Amid the current challenges, access to clean sanitation facilities remains a major issue affecting vital sectors. This project was launched in partnership with UNICEF Sudan and with support from the Canadian government, aiming to improve environmental sanitation conditions to ensure the continuity of education and the provision of healthcare in an environment that preserves dignity for all.
n Al Wadi Al Akhdar village (Khartoum State) water scarcity was not just a service gap, it was a critical need to save lives. With the onset of the conflict, water had become a distant hope, a limited resource people waited hours to access. This changed under the Rapid Response Fund, supported by the IOM Sudan with funding from the U.S. Department of State منظمة سودان صفر مخلفات was able to provide the village with safe, clean drinking water while the area suffered with lack of water and a cholera outbreak. And today, water is no longer a distant hope, or a limited resource people waited hours to access. that Along with International Organization for Migration and with funding from the Österreichisches Außenministerium , منظمة سودان صفر مخلفات rehabilitated and equipped a water source with a solar energy system to ensure long term sustainability. The result: 20,000 people with access to clean and safe water! This intervention did more than address an immediate need. It laid the foundation for safer, more stable living conditions. It restored balance within the the Al Wadi Al Akhdar village, reopened space for hope, and created an environment where children can learn, families can live with dignity, and the future can be built on sustainable ground.
