- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Water Resources Engineer, or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2_4 years of experience in WASH project implementation, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
Mission:
The WASH Engineer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene infrastructure projects across targeted communities in Khartoum State. The role involves technical assessments, supervision of construction works, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring that all interventions align with national and international WASH standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical needs assessments in target communities to identify water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) gaps.
• Design appropriate WASH infrastructure, including water supply systems, sanitation facilities (latrines), drainage, and handwashing stations.
• Prepare technical drawings, BoQs (Bills of Quantities), and specifications for WASH construction projects.
• Supervise construction and rehabilitation works to ensure compliance with quality standards, timelines, and safety protocols.
• Provide technical support to field teams, contractors, and community-based WASH committees.
• Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to ensure community engagement and ownership of infrastructure.
• Monitor project progress, document technical achievements, and contribute to internal and donor reporting
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance (O&M) plans are developed and transferred to community structures
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficient in using relevant engineering software for the design and implementation of water and sanitation projects.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Word, especially for technical reporting and data management.
- Good knowledge of local and international WASH standards and regulations.
